David Harper is responsible for environmental risk management within the team.
David is a highly-regarded expert in the brownfield industry in Canada. He brings outstanding scientific credentials and career experience to manage risk and maximize value from brownfield redevelopment projects. David is an expert in applied environmental due diligence and in developing integrated environmental site strategies for major brownfield projects.
David was the National Brownfield Practice Leader and Manager for a leading national environmental consulting firm. He is a specialist in remediation and risk management. In his thirteen year consulting career, David has consulted on over 200 brownfield projects.
David has authored numerous publications on brownfields and is a popular speaker at industry conferences. Through David’s active involvement in many brownfield initiatives and leadership in the Canadian Brownfields Network (CBN), he has provided strategic advice on various topics that have encouraged policy and regulatory reforms for brownfield redevelopment in Canada. In 2011, the Canadian Urban Institute selected David as “Brownfielder of the Year”, the industry’s highest form of recognition for personal achievement. David is a Professional with the Association of Geoscientists of Ontario (P.Geo) and is recognized as a Qualified Person under Ontario’s brownfield legislation. David is President of the CBN.
David serves as President of Kilmer Brownfield, KVN’s brownfield real estate development group. Following the end of the commitment period for Brownfield Fund I, KVN will internalize the funding for new investments in this specialized niche of the real estate business.
